News readers/Journalists

Switch 1197 is developing Switch News Service, which provides hourly news updates covering news that is local, national and international and concerns our audience age group and demographic.  The first phase of the service will begin with news during our Breakfast (6-9am) and Drive (3-6pm) shows.
We are seeking applicants with good literacy and reading skills for on air presentation and professionalism. Must be confident in speaking and must also have an understanding of copyright laws and obligations.

Volunteer Co-ordinator

Without Volunteers our radios would fall silent! The role of Volunteer Co-ordinator manages volunteer applications, enquiries and ensures they receive briefing on policies and procedures. The Volunteer Co-ordinator liaises with the Program Director and management to arrange necessary training and scheduling.  Additionally, this role is instrumental in its assistance in event organisation and management, ensuring volunteers are informed and are available to attend when required.
Applicants must have good organisation and communication skills and enjoys meeting new people.  Previous experience in event management or project management would be advantageous.

Sponsorship & Advertising Consultants

For Switch 1197 to continue its vital work in the community, we need the assistance of sponsors and advertisers.  Sponsorship & Advertising Consultants roles find creative ways to grow our community support through sponsorship and advertising agreements.  This role offers exciting opportunities whilst offering great rewards for the station and themselves.  This role will be commission based with a negotiable percentage of completed sales going back to the successful consultant.
Applicants must be well presented, with good organisation and communication skills and are confident in building new business relationships.
